Dear Friends and Supporters of Haitian Support Ministries. Inc.
It is with sadness that I inform you that Haitian Support Ministries, Inc. will be dissolved as of March 1, 2024. As an original member of the board of directors and personally involved in Haiti for almost 25 years, I share with you that the board unanimously made this decision on February 3, 2024. Our treasury has been bleeding for the last two years, to the extent that we can no longer sustain the ministry. In the past, 50-60% of our budget was met by missions trips and at one time we were conducting these trips 4-5 times a year. Because of the present political situation in Haiti, we can no longer sponsor these trips. Our “boots-on-the-ground guy”, Pastor Jean Claude Pierre, can no longer be in Haiti because of personal danger to his life. Pastor Jean Claude and his family presently reside in Orlando, Florida. We have not paid him a salary out of our funds for over two years. All funds the last many months have gone for slight administrative costs, and the rest for feeding children in Haiti.
During the month of February, we will be paying some bills owed and making our last monthly commitment to the feeding ministry in Haiti. The few funds we have left over will go to Pastor Jean Claude as a love gift for almost 25 years of service. They have been involved the last couple of years in our food distribution in Haiti.
It is with deep appreciation that we thank you for your years of support. The work at Calvary Church in Jacmel continues to be strong. Several satellite churches that were planted by Calvary are still ministering. I can personally testify that hundreds of lives have been changed because of your support of this ministry.
